(1) If you need to load heavy items, we recommend using a heavy-duty caster made of PU, nylon, or cast iron; rubber casters are not recommended because larger and denser wheels are needed for heavier loads.It is recommended to use wheels that are 6 inches or larger (8″, 10″, 12″, or 16″).
(2) Rubber and PU wheels are recommended if you want to avoid damaging the working floor. Although plastic furniture casters are lightweight and cannot support heavy loads, they move smoothly on carpet. If you must drive over cables, use big casters. The greatest maneuverability is offered by four rotating wheels. The casters will still be difficult to move in some directions even if you have two swivel and two fixed wheels. To prevent the unit from rolling, use casters with locking wheels.
(3) Rubber or TPA caster wheels are preferable if you need a caster that is silent (i.e., doesn’t make a lot of noise); nylon and iron wheels are not recommended.
(4) You can select heat-resistant casters in hot environments if you require them to operate in extremely hot or cold conditions.
(5) When working on hard flooring, nylon wheels are recommended if you need wheels to roll smoothly. The wheel will roll more easily if its diameter is greater and its material is harder. Selecting the appropriate wheel size can facilitate your work. Heavy loads are carried by roller bearings. Ball bearings carry less weight but roll more easily. Environmental and application conditions also have an impact on rolling ease.
(6) The majority of casters for shop equipment are plate-mounted. It is difficult to maneuver light-duty, low-cost, non-swiveling plastic shop casters around corners. They don’t roll over wires. Swiveling shop casters are available, but they are still unable to roll over electrical cords.
